Studies have proven that the laser significantly diminishes the quantity of bacteria accumulating in the periodontal pockets and particularly an invasive bacteria very often associated with the progression of gums disease, Actinobacillus actinomycetemcomitans. This diminishment is observed even 6 months after the therapy.
The laser treatment is done in combination with the deep scaling (root planing) and the curettage. For optimal results, many laser sessions may be necessary at one week intervals. This allows a fast and ideal healing process from an healthy and clean environment.
