








Yes, but during the treatment period, the patient will have to cease smoking. The carcinogenic potential of nicotine is substantially increased in the presence of peroxide. It takes 24 hours after the treatment for the harmful effect of peroxide to disappear.
For the home kit bleaching, the patient will have to cease smoking for the 2 weeks of the trays treatment.
For those who are not willing to stop smoking, the alternative lies in the clinical “laser” bleach. The clinical bleaching is faster and more efficient. Since the whole procedure barely lasts two hours, the patient will only have to avoid smoking for the 24 hours following the treatment instead of the two weeks of bleaching at home.
Although the clinical bleach is faster and more efficient, the expected results will be approximately the same than the home kit bleaching. The only difference is in the treatment duration, and therefore, the
