What are LUMINEERS?

LUMINEERS are porcelain veneers as thin as contact lenses, approximatively 0,2 mm. Made exclusively by CERINATE, in California, the veneers are so thin and resistant that they allow to be placed without having to reduce the teeth enamel. Therefore, there is no anasthesia, pain nor discomfort related to this procedure.

Does it hurt?

LUMINEERS are porcelain veneers as thin as contact lenses, approximatively 0,2 mm. Therefore, contrary to traditional veneers where a certain layer of enamel had to be cut, the lumineers can, if there is no modifications to be added to the shape of the teeth, be placed without alteration of the enamel. This procedure therefore does not require anasthesia and does not imply any pain. Assist to a clinical procdure of the  lumineers veneers placement.

How much does the LUMINEERS treatment cost?

The treatment cost depends on the complexity of the clinical case and the number of veneers required to enhance the smile. The unity cost of a LUMINEER veneer at Mdex is 950$. However, only one pecific examination can allow each dentist to evaluate the costs. Of course, financing is available via DENTOPLAN. Calculate your monthly payments

What are the advantages of LUMINEERS?

Simple and fast procedure in 2 to 3 visits from the initial consultation to the final placement.

Without pain: since there is little or no enamel alterations.

Permanent whitening: it is possible to choose the color of the veneers are white as desired. It is without restrictions, or almost.

Instant orthodontics: Since it is possible to realign the teeth to a certain degree, the LUMINEERS are an interesting alternative to orthodontic treatments.

Can I eat gum or sticky food?

There are no restrictions concerning food and beverages with the LUMINEERS since the veneers cover the natural teeth, keeping intact the force of the teeth enamel. Of course, it is recommended to not abuse the porcelain veneers, because anything that would break a tooth, will also break the porcelain. A good hygiene and regular maintenance two times a year with the dentist allow LUMINEERS to last longer. In other words, treat your LUMINEERS the same way you would treat your natural teeth.

Can LUMINEERS replace an orthodontic treatment?

In most cases, yes. If the orthodontic problem is related to the smile line, the LUMINEERS can offer a rapid and interesting alternative to conventional orthodontics on the esthetic point of view. Of course, only your dentist, after consultation, can answer to this question more precisely.

Do insurances cover the costs related to LUMINEERS?

Generally, insurance companies do not cover esthetic care. However, financing is available via DENTOPLAN. At Mdex, student members of ASEQ can benefit from the privileges of the agreement between Mdex and their insurers.
